2019 Guber Polls: IBB Endorses PDP’s Ashiru For Kashim Ibrahim House

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Nigeria’s former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate for the 2019 Kaduna State governorship elections, Alhaji Isa Mohammed Ashiru as a well-bred leader and politician capable of taking the State to greater heights of socio-economic growth and development.

He said Alhaji Ashiru has the political maturity, requisite experience and capacity to deliver democracy dividends to the people of Kaduna, guarantee good governance and take the State to next level of glory.

Receiving the PDP governorship candidate and his running mate, Barrister Sunday Marshall Katung at his Minna Hilltop residence in Niger state, the elder statesman endorsed their candidature and wished them success at the 2019 general elections.

“You are a bright leader and from my observation, your team is also bright. Every leader needs a strong, bright team in order to succeed. And I assure you of my blessings”, the retired General told the PDP delegation

In his comments, the PDP gubernatorial flag-bearer, Alhaji Ashiru, informed the General Babangida that they were at his residence to seek his fatherly advice, support and prayers going into the electioneering campaigns.

He said given the people’s mandate at the polls, his administration would ensure unity, security and peaceful co-existence among the different ethnic and religious groups in Kaduna State.

According to Ashiru, the PDP government would treat citizens of Kaduna State with dignity and respect without prejudice to tribe and religion if elected voted into office come 2019
