2019 Polls: Thousands Dump APC For PDP in Southern Kaduna
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – Thousands on Monday dumped the governing All Progressive Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Kaduna, describing APC as the party that has inflicted untold hardship and pains on Nigerians.
The decamping APC members said Nigerians are disenchanted and tired of the wilderness experience, adding that the PDP therefore provides a workable alternative for the people.
Leading others to abandon the APC’s boat in the state, House of Representatives member, representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency, Adams Jagaba, said they have experienced both parties, and PDP remains the only one with the welfare of Nigerians at heart.
“All Progressive Congress (APC) has nothing to offer Nigerians. The APC-led administration in the country is an administration of intimidation, hate speech and other vices.
“APC has brought kidnapping, cattle rustling and disunity among Nigerians and all these challenges have led abject poverty in the country and insecurity.”
According to him, the “APC does not mean well for the youth of this country, leaving them in abject poverty, thereby leading to all social vices that has become the order of the day.”
He said the former APC members are determined to fight for good governance by voting out the governing party, adding that; “On behalf of the decampees of Southern Kaduna, l am assuring PDP that we shall together fight to ensure we liberate Nigerians from the leadership of APC to restore the country back to its lost glory.”
In his remarks while welcoming the new members, immediate past national Caretaker Committee Chairman of PDP, Senator Mohammed Ahmed Makarfi, urged all eligible voters in Kaduna State to vote en masse for PDP to deliver Nigerians from the current hardship and challenges facing the country in the last three years.
Senator Makarfi said Nigerians must vote APC out of government so that PDP can restore the country back to its past glory for the overall peace, unity and development.
Chairman on the occasion and PDP National Secretary, Senator Umaru Ibrahim Tsauri, said the time has come for Nigerians to totally reject APC at the 2019 polls if there is any hope of restoring Nigeria’s dignity among comity of nations.
Senator Tsauri lamented that the country is currently witnessing all manners of intimidation and social vices that have unfortunately become the norm in almost every part of the country.
He further stated that “We need to free ourselves in the country by voting the government out of office by coming out to ensure we cast our votes to deliver ourselves from all the problems we are experiencing.”
The Kaduna State Chairman of PDP, Hassan Hyet, accused the APC-led government of encouraging all social vices thus making it difficult to ensure the legacy left behind by the PDP in the development of the country is further enhanced.
For the former APC faithful, they had to move into PDP in Southern Kaduna local government areas in order to overcome and leave behind a hopeless situation that many Nigerians have found themselves due to the APC’s misrule in the last three years.
