Buhari Meets Saraki, Dogara In Villa
BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Though the meeting’s agenda is not made public, insiders from the National Assembly (NASS) hinted that it might not be unconnected with the 2018 Appropriation Bill that is yet to be passed by the lawmakers.
There is also speculations that another item on the agenda could be the issue of Legislative-executive interface which the Senate mandated its Leader to engage following the Inspector General of Police (IGP)’, Ibrahim Idris’ gross disregard of the summons by National Assembly.
On that occasion, the red chamber rebuked IGP Idris over his failure to honour an invitation over the worrying killings across the country, the arrest, harassment and detention of their colleague, Senator Dino Melaye.
However, a Presidency source hinted that the budget delay has been on the mind of Mr President since returning from his Us visit to President Donald Trump.
NAN report that the meeting started after Buhari returned from Daura, Katsina state where he participated in the APC Ward Congress in his ward on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
Details are being expected from the Presidential spokesmen after the meeting.
