The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday announced new dates for the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off round fixtures between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Ghana’s Black Stars
The continent’s soccer governing body dropped the hints on the latest development in its communication with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
According to the NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, the World Cup play-off matches between both countries would no longer hold on the earlier scheduled dates of March 24 and March 27, 2022.
Olajire stated in a statement thus; “The opening leg of the fixture at the Cape Coast Stadium will now take place on March 25, 2022, starting from 7:30 p.m Ghana time, which will be 8:30 p.m in Nigeria.
“The return leg match will now hold at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on March 29, 2022, starting from 6 pm Nigeria time.”
The winner over the two legs will advance to the 2022 FIFA World Cup holding in the oil-rich Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022 – With NAN reports
