2023: Coalition Of Southeast PDP Proffers Steps Towards Resolving Crisis In Party
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – South East Coalition for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has tasked members of the Party to sheath their swords and embrace a peaceful dialogue in resolving the issues rocking the party ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
The South East Coalition for PDP, a political umbrella governing the South Easterners resident in Bauchi State particularly said that the time has come for a solemn, calm and peaceful resolution of the issues rocking the PDP.
The coalition which stated these after an emergency meeting in Bauchi called for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu, adding however that there I the need for caution.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting of the Coalition signed by its Chairman, Chief Emeka Aneke Ekwueme called on all the concerned, particularly the warring factions to shun further utterances or action that will distract the party ahead of the general elections.
It said that the PDP remain the only vaible political option that will salvage the country from the shackles that this present All Progressives Congress-led government plugged the nation into.
The coalition of South East PDP members expressed optimism that if all the burning issues are properly handled, and all interest groups brought on board, the party would be able to build on the gains that it had recorded nationwide in states where it recorded victories in recently conducted elections.
The communiqué stated that no stone should be left unturned in ensuring that the issues were resolved peacefully saying that everybody is important in ensuring the victory of PDP come 2023 General Elections.
The coalition commended the foresight of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State in his developmental strides that are spread across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
It noted that the prompt payment of salaries of the State Civil Servants, the ongoing promotional examination for the Civil Servants in the State to mention but a few which have attracted massive influx of other political big wigs in the State into PDP, deserve commendation.
The group also congratulated and welcome the defectors led by for deputy governor of the State, Audu Sule Katagum into the PDP.
