One of the presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State on Wednesday denied ever jettisoning his 2023 presidential bid for the Senate.

Umahi, who stated this through his Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Uchenna Orji, described the trending report that he has dropped his presidential aspiration for the Senate as falsehood peddled by political charlatans.

Governor Umahi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), during which he stated that it was to enable him contest the presidency in 2023. However, he is yet to formally declare for APC’s ticket to contest the number one seat in the country.

Orji said; “We restate for the pleasure of progressive Nigerians home and in the diaspora that the falsehood trending currently in social media that Governor Umahi has dropped his ambition for Senate is nothing but the empty and vaunting architecture of political charlatans who are intimidated by the tall and admirable hallmarks of leadership excellence recorded by Governor Umahi”.

He also described the sponsors of the trended rumour as political jobbers who would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Orji pointedly said that Umahi’s presidential ambition remains unwavering and alive in the hearts of Nigerians.
