The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has expressed grave concerns over what he considered as ‘discrepancies’ in the academic credentials submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sowore, who is also the publisher of SaharaReporters, an online publication, told journalists during a chat that the university certificate presented by President Tinubu for the 2027 general elections is completely different from the document he submitted in 1999 when he ran for Lagos State Governorship election.

He therefore cautioned Nigerians against supporting candidates lacking verifiable academic histories, stressing that President Tinubu only presented a certificate from Chicago State University, which was different from the paper he presented in 1999.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), recently published the credentials and personal details of all presidential aspirants, a development that has sparked widespread public debate and scrutiny over the exclusion of President Tinubu’s primary and secondary school certificates.
