BY EDMOND ODOK – Kudos are still pouring in for President Muhammadu Buhari following the release of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and the #Revolution Now convener, Omoyele Sowore from detention.

The latest commendation is coming from Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, who was the candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo State.

Ugwumba Nwosu told newsmen that in spite of contrary opinions being peddled by government critics and opposition parties, the release of the twosome has further demonstrated President Buhari’s commitment to the rule of law and freedom of expression in the country.

According to him, since his assumption of office, President Buhari has shown tremendous commitment to the advancement of Nigeria’s democracy by promoting autonomy of the judiciary, observing rule of law and independence of relevant institutions of government.

The AA governorship flag-bearer however warned against actions and uncomplimentary remarks by some Nigerians that are capable of undermining the security and unity of the country.

”I want to commend the President for the release of the former National Security Adviser and Sahara Reporters publisher, Sowore. The single action has shown that he is committed to the rule of law as against the view of the opposition.

“We should not allow ourselves to be used to destabilise our own country for whatever reason. Nigeria, as a country, is built on a Constitution so whoever that feels aggrieved for whatever reason should act within the ambit of the Constitution”, Nwosu said
