BY GRACE ANYANWU, ABUJA – Following what he described as indiscreet and unguarded utterances, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has sacked his Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who explained that Magaji was sacked following his unguarded utterances against the person of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari.

Garba explained that as a public servant, the sacked commissioner ought to have respected the profanity of the office by refraining from any act capable of bringing the office into disrepute.

The Kano Government spokesman said that the action of a public servant whether personal or otherwise has a way of reflecting back on the government.

He said that the Ganduje administration would therefore not tolerate people in official capacities engaging in personal vendetta or otherwise.

Garba noted that the late Abba Kyari had led a life worthy of emulation by serving his country to the best of his ability.
