Adamawa 2023: Disgrace Awaits You – Fintiri Tells ADC Senatorial Aspirant

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has challenged a defeated senatorial candidate in 2019 on the platform of ADC, Umar Mustapha Mukkadas, to face the reality of defeat awaiting him again in 2023.

Mustapha Mukkadas had criticized Fintiri’s gesture for the traditional rulers as self-serving and totally unnecessary.

However, Fintiri, who spoke through his Director-General on Media, Mr. Kumangar Solomon while reacting to the criticisms of Mukkadas, said the purchase of official vehicles for First Class Traditional rulers in the state, was taking place 20years after such gesture was ever extended to them, thus deserving.

The media aide further explained that apart from the administration of former Governor Boni Haruna, no one ever remembered the last time any governor bought vehicles for those in charge of the people’s cultural heritage until the coming of Fintiri’s administration.

Kumangar pointedly said that Fintiri deserves commendation and not vilification for the noble things he has put in place and for also correcting past misgivings.

He, therefore, berated Mukkadas, just as he described him as “a serial contestant and looser” whose lack of respect for the traditional institution in the state is glaring in spite of being a titleholder himself.

In the words of Kumangar; “This fellow, Umar Mustapha is speaking due to the pains of defeat he suffered during the 2019 election, and we understand his frustration. It was Governor Fintiri that has approved 1.5 billion Naira to pensioners since the advent of the state or has any pensioner run to him to cry out over not getting pension.

“Umar Mustapha and his cohorts are scared stiff of the looming disgrace awaiting them at the 2023 polls, forgetting that those sponsoring him will face an imminent and inevitable electoral defeat too, come 2023.

“Umar Mustapha is not driven by love for pensioners or patriotism, he is struggling to gain popularity that exists only in his imagination. But can a drowning man rescue another?” he asked.
