ADC Expels Deputy Chairman, 8 Others Over Alleged Goss Misconduct

The Kaduna State Executive Committee (SEC) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has announced the expulsion of its State Deputy Chairman, Ahmed Tijani Mustapha and eight other members from the party.

The decision was part of the resolutions reached by the organ of the party during its meeting in Kaduna on Tuesday during which the leadership of the Party in the State found the expelled members that included the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Idris Musa guilty of gross misconduct, insubordination, holding illegal and secret meetings to usurp the leadership, extortion of members, and falsification of official documents which are capable of tarnishing the image of the party.

Other members of the party that were expelled included; the State Vice Chairman zone 1, Sulaiman Abdullahi, State Treasurer, Gambo Sani, State Financial Secretary, Magaji Maiwada, the State Legal Adviser, Danlami Dabai Musa, State Coordinator of the PWD, Saura Muhammed, the State Deputy Youths Leader, Ibrahim Muhammed and Mansur Gaga.

Addressing a Press Conference shortly after its meeting, the State Chairman of the ADC, Elder Patrick D. Ambut, emphasised that the leadership of the party in the State remain committed to peace, discipline, and the rule of law as enshrined in the party’s constitution.

Ambut explained that the actions of the Deputy Chairman was an abuse of office, impersonation, stressing that the actions were tantamount to causing disharmony within the party in the state and the North west zone at large.

In the words of Ambut; “As law abiding members of the ADC, we are committed to upholding the Constitution of the party and ensuring the integrity of our party’s structure”.

He noted that action and activities of the expelled Deputy Chairman action were a gross violation of the ADC Constitution and contrary to established party procedures. Ambut further said; “The Deputy Chairman acted without due process, as he lacks the constitutional authority to convene any meeting or issue such directives”.

The ADC chairman also said that the State Executive Committee (SEC), the Local Government Chairmen of the party across the state and other stakeholders who were in attendance unanimously approved that the Deputy State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Alex Tagwai should immediately assumed the position of the State Publicity Secretary in acting capacity pending when other adjustments would be carried out.
