ADC Governorship Aspirant, Kidnapped, Killed After Payment Of Ransom

Gunmen who kidnapped former member of the House of Representatives and Governorship aspirant on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, Hon Abba Anas Adamu Laushi has been brutally killed by his captors.

Adamu who kidnapped along the Kaduna-Abuja highway last week Friday, May 8, 2026, while on his way to the nation’s capital to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the ADC to enable him contest for the Governorship of Jigawa State.

The former member of the House of Representatives was kidnapped along with one other person after which his abductors demanded a ransom of 75 million Naira.

While the second abducted person managed to escape, Hon. Abba Anas was tragically killed by the kidnappers even after they had received the ransom money.

Anas was a member of the House of Representatives who represented Birniwa, Guri, and Kirikasamma federal constituency of Jigawa State between 2007 and 2011.

Until his death, Anas was a gubernatorial aspirant for Jigawa State on the platform of the ADC.

His death sent shock waves to his supporters and political associates who described the sad development as “heartbreaking and devastating”, saying that the effective political mobiliser met his death in the hands of heartless criminals he has vowed to wipe out of Jigawa State if gets elected.
