Senator David Mark, the interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has declared that the presidential candidate of the Party would be chosen through an open, clean and transparent selection process.
This was as Mark assured Stakeholders of the Party that the ADC as a matter of principle and policy, does not have a preferred candidate for its enthusiastically awaited presidential ticket in 2027.
In the words of Mark; “The ADC has no preferred or favourite presidential aspirant; rather, we are focused on establishing a platform that will be attractive and acceptable to the majority of Nigerians”.
The Interim National Chairman of the ADC who stated these when he hosted a delegation of the Party’s stakeholders from Kogi State, stressed that the new leadership of the Party undertook the task owing to their avowed commitment not to allow the great vessel called Nigeria to sink.
Mark said; “If we do not act now, we shall all be lost. I urge all members to prepare to demonstrate to Nigerians that ADC is a different party. A party that is ready to effectively administer democracy in our country”.
He further stressed the principle of equality within the party, assuring that all members of the ADC are equal joiners and equal owners of the party.

According to him; “I do not own this party any more than any of our members. All Nigerians must unite and take ownership of the ADC. Our members must put aside their differences and promote teamwork. We must come together to develop the party before we can discuss ambitions”.
The former President of the Senate expressed concern over the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), attempting to define the policies and plans of the ADC as against concentrating on the crises they have pushed Nigeria into,
Mark therefore urged the APC to refrain from personal attacks and instead focus on addressing the policy failures highlighted by the ADC.
“If they are aware that insecurity is a significant issue and promised Nigerians improvements only to make matters worse, can they expect continued support? The answer is No!”
“Let us persist in our efforts to rebuild our nation and bring forth its best for the sake of future generations,” Mark said.
