Following the judgment of a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognise the congress conducted by the David Mark leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the party said it has directed its legal team to examine the court judgment and provide appropriate guidance on the next course of action.
The ADC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that following its recent congresses, the party had stated that the exercise did not terminate the tenure of the current State Executive Committees, which are to complete their terms before the inauguration of newly elected officials.
Abdullahi, who stated these while responding to reports that a Federal High Court, presided over by Justice Joyce O. Abdulmalik, nullified the emergence of the party’s elected but yet-to-be-inaugurated State Chairmen, urged members of the Party to remain calm as the legal team of the party would explore all available options.
