Again, Bandits Attack Police Station, Emir’s Palace, Abduct 10 Residents In Kwara

Suspected terrorists in the early hours of Monday, May 25, 2026 stormed Yashikira town in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and carried out a coordinated attack on the Divisional Police headquarters and the Emir’s palace.

The deadly bandits also successfully abducted 10 residents of the community.

Confirming the incident, the Police Punlic Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Kwara State Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said the deadly attacks took place at about 2:00am in a carefully coordinated operation.

The Spokesperson of the Nigeria Police in Kwara State, further said that the assailants also set the palace of the Emir of Yashikira on fire during the invasion, thereby caused serious panic in the community.

SP Ejire-Adeyemi however, said police operatives stationed at the Divisional headquarters successfully repelled the attack on the police facility and prevented further destruction.

The police statement also said that the deadly attackers succeeded in abducting 10 persons before escaping into nearby forest.
