As part of his avowed commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability, Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), to forward their activities and achievements marking his first one year in office.
The activities and achievements which would form part of the key performance indicators that would be captured in a public documentary awareness for the people of Benue State for the first year of the administration of Governor Alia.
A statement by Dr. Mkor Aondona Donatus, Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Research, Documentation and Strategy, said that the documentation, accountability, and transparency briefing initiative is to further serve as springboards for accurate futuristic projections, performance and for effecting the correct balance of strategic planning and development process for the state.
Donatus, who wrote at the behest of Governor Alia, requested the various heads of the MDAs to forward detailed videos and pictures of activities and achievements of their organization, with dates and locations within the first year of the present administration.
The MDAs are also requested to send detailed achievements, activities of their organizations to be contained and conveyed in writing and or documents with dates and references as well as detailed contending challenges facing their organizations.
They are also expected to marshal out possible policy options in addressing challenges, and other necessary information that may facilitate the aim of the Governor Alia in advancing the cause of good governance, transparency and accountability to the good people of the state.
According to Donatus; “All the above information both in hard and soft copies should be forwarded to the Office of the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Government House, Makurdi, Benue State, on or before March 2024”.
He also said that individual official letters on the subject matter effect will be communicated to all concerned, adding that the Governor look forward to their expeditious consideration of the request.
