Air Peace plane on Sunday, July 13, 2025, skidded off the runway after landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
This was confirmed in a statement by Osifo-Whisky Efe, spokesperson of the Airline, who said that the incident occurred on Sunday morning.
The statement explained that the Air Peace airline flight P47190, which operated from Lagos to Port Harcourt, had a runway excursion after a safe landing.
Efe said; “Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
“The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage,” he said.
The statement further said that all passengers on board safely and calmly disembarked with no single injury recorded.
It reassured the public of its unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in its operations.
In 2019, an aircraft operated by the aviation company skidded off the runway of the same airport upon landing.
Precisely on May 10, 2025, passengers on board an Air Peace aircraft got infuriated when it struck and killed an antelope while taxiing at the Asaba Airport, a development that led the airline to be grounded for awhile.
The development led to flight delays and frustration among passengers even as the officials of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), described the incident as a rare wildlife encounter, stressing however, that Air Peace was still responsible for assisting affected travellers.
