AIT Chairman Emeritus, Raymond Dokpesi Dies In Abuja

Founder of African Independent Television (AIT), a subsidiary of DAAR Communications, High Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi is dead.

Chief Dopkesi, who until his death was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died in Abuja on Monday, May 29, 2023.

A statement by his son who is the chairman of AIT, Mr. Raymond Dokpesi Jnr., said that High Chief Dokpesi, who held the traditional title of Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom, was an accomplished businessman, a pioneer in the media industry, and a philanthropist who dedicated his life to the service of his country and his community.

Dokpesi Jnr. also said the legacy of his father will live on through the impact he made on the lives of many, adding that he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The statement further stated: “The Dokpesi family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of our patriarch.

“We also ask for privacy during this time as we grieve together as a family”.

While praying for the repose of his soul, Dokpesi Jnr. Assured that the family will release further details on the funeral arrangements in due course.
