Akpabio, Abbas, Govs, Others To Attend ‘Politics, X &Power’ Public Presentation
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Rt.Hon. Ben Kalu, and governors, including Senator Hope Uzodinma (Imo); Douye Diri (Bayelsa); Senator Uba Sani (Kaduna), Senator Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) are highlighted to attend the public unveiling of Politics, X & Power, a book written by a broadcast journalist, gender and inclusive governance advocate, Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack.
Akpabio is to serve as Special Guest of Honour, while the Keynote Speaker for the event is the Director General of the National institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Dr Abubakar Sulaiman. Also billed to attend the event that is slated to kickstart at 11am at the Embassy Hall of the Envoy Hotel in Abuja on Thursday March 21, 2024, include ministers of the Niger Delta, Engr. Abubakar Momoh; Women Affairs, Barr Uju Kennedy; Minister of State for Labour, Dr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, the Chairperson, Senate Committee on Women Affairs, Senator Ireti Kingigbe, Rt.Hon. Miriam Onuoha and others.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Umar Ganduje, and his counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Umar lliya Damagun, and Labour Party (LP) Mr. Julius Abure, are also among the list of those attending the event, including the diplomatic community, civil society organisations and the media, among others.
The book reviewer is the deputy director at the McArthur Foundation, Dr. Amina Salihu. Politics, X & Power is a table-shaking and thought-provoking piece of art that seeks to demystify social aberrations militating against the greatness of the human mind. The book has as its central focus the web woven around politics, power and gender.
