Al-Makura-led CPC Rejects Moves To Dump APC

The Senator Tanko Al-Makura-led members of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), met in Abuja on Thursday, May 7, 2025 and resolved that the they would remain in the All Progressives Congress (APC), and work to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

The members of the legacy party of the defunct CPC led by former Governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Tanko Al-Makura and Hon Aminu Bello Masari, former governor of Katsina State, declared at the end of their meeting that they are totally against recent moves to lure them out of the APC to join a coalition of the opposition.

Addressing the members of the CPC in APC, Senator Al-Makura traced how President Tinubu and former President Mohammadu Buhari came together to wrestle power form the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and urged the party members to remain steadfast and work for the APC to retain power in 2027.

He said that the current hardships being experienced in the country would soon give way when the gains of the reforms of the Tinubu-led administration beings to manifest.

That gathering was made up of notable members of the CPC that included former Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu and his counterpart in FRCN, Dr. Mansur Liman.
