Alleged Bribery: APC Chair, Ganduje, Wife, Others To Appear In Court Next Week
From April 17, 2024, the Kano State High Court would expectedly attract array of important personalities and lots of attention as the Court being presided over by Justice Usman Malam Na’aba may likely commence hearing in a case of alleged bribery, diversion and misappropriation of public funds against the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his wife, Hajiya Hafsat Umar Ganduje and six others.
The former governor who is currently the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Ganduje is to be arraigned before the Kano High Court on 17th April 2024.
A summon addressed to Ganduje which was sighted on Tuesday, indicated that he is expected to appear in Court with his wife, Hajiya Hafsat and six others on an eight-count charge allegedly bordering on bribery in dollar currency, diversion and misappropriation of funds to the tune of $413,000 and N1.38bn among others.
This was as it was gathered that apart from Dr Ganduje and his wife, other respondents in the case include Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd and Lesage General Enterprises.
The Kano State Government which is prosecuting the criminal suit against the eight respondents said it has assembled 15 witnesses against the defendants.
