Another Building Collapses In Lekki
BY CHINYERE OBIORA, LAGOS – Barely 24 hours after the collapse of a 21-storey building on Gerrard Road in the Ikoyi area, another two-storey building has reportedly collapsed in the Lekki area of Lagos state.
According to an eyewitness account, the recent incident took place within the Osapa London area of Lekki.
Reports said the building, still under construction, partially caved in after Monday’s heavy downpour that hit the area.
The picture of the collapsed building was displayed on the Twitter handle of @SkyGospelNewsT1.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not possible to ascertain the number of casualties at the incident scene
However, efforts at confirming the latest incident were unsuccessful as the Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, could not be reached on phone as calls to his mobile numbers were not answered.
