APC ‘Akida’ Passes Vote Of No Confidence On el-Rufai
- Accuses him of political intolerance
BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – The Kaduna State faction of the All Progressives Congress under the aegis of ‘APC Akida’ has condemned what it described as lack of leadership tolerance and consultation with critical stakeholders on matters relating to party members and people of the state by Governor Nasir el-Rufai.
Chairman of the group, Tom Maiyashim, who stated this at a press conference in Kaduna on Monday, July 10, 2017 said el-Rufai’s policies have put the APC on a cliff running up to 2019, when the party has to give account of its stewardship to the people.
Maiyashim launched an inquest saying; “What will be our score card? Destruction of community peace or mortgaging the future of our children whose state of education and development is hitting its worst level?
“The state is walking into another circle of crises, attack on traditional institutions who have sustained our sense of community for ages from pre-colonial days.”
Accordingly, the group decried el-Rufai’s assault on the traditional rulers taking together with many of the anti-people policies of the administration that are capable of throwing the state into another round of crises.
The factional chairman further said; “Kaduna State should be prepared, for the worst is yet to come. Available information beyond the sacking of the 313 district heads and 4,453 villages heads, other civil servants including local government staff, teachers and other professionals have been lined up for dismissal.
“What the government of el-Rufai knows to do best is lies even at the risk of destroying government’s own image. The Governor has so much energy, fighting to destroy his own party that brought him to power.
“The governor has no regard for public or responsible opinion and in his pharonic wisdom, he does not believe anybody has value.”
Maiyashim said the situation the APC in Kaduna and the citizen are facing presently calls for critical reflection, stressing that in the remaining life of the administration, the people should address and focus their attention to building the confidence of communities, and secure a great future for their children.
“We support the court processes restraining the sacking of the traditional rulers which is the civilized approach to resolving these issues,” Maiyashim maintained.
