APC: New Members Must Be Treated Fairly – Senator Benani
BY AUSTIN AJAYI, YOLA – New members registering in the ongoing Revalidation and Registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) must be treated with fairness, equity and justly.
As part of efforts towards garnering more members in the ongoing revalidation and registration of new members for the All Progressives Congress (APC),
Senator Ahaitu Benni representing Adamawa Central senatorial district at the National Assembly gave the advice while receiving former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that hitherto belonged to the Late Adamu Modibbo Political Group into the APC, therefore warned those saddled with the registration exercise to be extra cautious in handling it to ensure equity and justice.
She further said; “We must guide against unfair treatment to any member during the forthcoming membership revalidation and registration exercise.
Also speaking, the National Vice Chairman of the APC, North East Zone, Professor Tahir Mamman, charged the state executive to be cautious and treat everyone equal.
Mamman warned that the party would not take it likely with any of its official found to have been engaged in shoddy deals during the exercise.
He said; “No officials of the registration and revalidation is allowed to register a person twice or in proxy as such exercise would be rendered a nullity”.
Professor Mamman said that the APC has achieved a great landmark in Adamawa State as one of the major strong political groups from the ADC and PDP decamps to the APC.
He described late Adamu Modibbo as one of the major financiers of his former parties since their creation in the State.
The APC Zonal Vice Chairman said that by 2023 when President Muhammadu Buhari might have completed his two tenures, the doors would be opened for all qualified APC members to contest for the exalted position, saying that it is the cardinal position of the APC.
In his own remarks, Adamawa State Caretaker Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal assured the national leadership of the Party that the registration and revalidation of exercise will be devoid of sentiment.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the late Adamu Modibbo Political Group, Mrs Bless Osagie said the late politician has contested elections to govern Adamawa State on the platform of the ANPP, the PDP, Labour party among others.
