BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Following the attack and brutal killing of three policemen and two civilians in the convoy of the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Mr. Emmanuel Akabe, special police operatives are to be deployed to the state to fish out the criminal elements that carried out the evil act.

This is even as there are indications that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed
Adamu is most likely to visit the state over the robbery attack on the state deputy governor’s convoy and to commiserate with with the state government and families of those killed.

Forefront News gathered that IGP Adamu is highly disturbed over the attack on the convoy and the killing of police personnel attached to the Nasarawa deputy governor while the dust over the unfortunate incident that took place Taraba state is yet to settle down.
Governor Abdullahi Sule who presided over a Joint Security Council meeting at Government House, Lafia, told journalists that the headquarters of the nation’s security agencies have been duly informed, adding that security personnel will be deployed to fish out the criminal elements that attacked the deputy governor.
The Tuesday evening attack on the convoy of the deputy governor has further raised serious concerns in the country over the security of lives and property of citizens.
Although the scene of the attack had witnessed several other criminal attacks in the last five years, but Tuesday incident has created mixed feelings across the state.
The popular “Many have gone Hill” where the three police personnel and two civilians were killed has been very vulnerable without much security
presence in spite of security issues.
Available pictures of the deceased officers and victims show that they were shot mostly in the upper part of their body indicating that those that carried out the shootings are likely to be professional criminals.
Checks by Forefront News indicate that in the last five years, criminals have terrorized the people on that road especially on Tuesdays and Wednesday that are local market days in a community called Fadama where people across the country visit to buy watermelon and groundnut.
Villagers along the axis where the incident took place, said that only one security check point exist close to Lilly Water Works with no patrol by any of
security agencies along the road.
