Bandits Kill Village Head, Burn House In Kaduna
Suspected bandits on Thursday killed Mallam Kabiru Mohammed, the village head of Marke in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Age 30, the late Kabiru Muhammmad was turbaned as the Village Head of Marke in 2018.
Reports said the unknown gunmen, suspected to be hired killers, stormed the victim’s residence at about 12:30 am on Thursday.
It was gathered that after the gunmen drove everyone out of the compound, they took their time searching for the whereabout of the Village Head, Mallam Kabiru who had climbed to hide inside the ceiling alongside his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed.
An inside source disclosed that the gunmen later discovered the victim, brought him out of hiding to slaughter before setting the house ablaze.
The Councilor representing Dandamisa Ward, Alhaji Aminu Sani Marke, who reacted to the unfortunate incident, said the remains of the late Village Head could not be recovered because the house was burnt down.
“The gunmen spent about one hour operating in the village and went away with valuables worth millions of Naira”, the source said
Meanwhile, as of press time, the Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mansir Hassan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), could not be reached to comment on the incident.
However, one of the Community Leaders, who preferred anonymity, informed Forefront News that the matter has already been reported to the Police and they are waiting to hear from the Command.
