Bauchi Governor Lifts Suspension On Ningi LG Chairman

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Governor Bala Mohammed has approved the lifting of the suspension recently placed on the Chairman of Ningi Local Government Council, Mamuda Hassan Tabla.

The lifting of the suspension was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim, stating that the reinstatement of the chairman is with immediate effect.

The development followed a review of the case of the Chairman’s alleged involvement in the sales of parcels of land to farmers in Lame/Burra Game Reserve.

The letter read; “I am pleased to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State has after reviewing the case of alleged involvement of the Executive Chairman, Ning Local Government in the illegal sales of parcels of land to farmers from Lame/Burra Game Reserve, approved the lifting of his suspension and subsequent re-instatement with immediate effect.

“By this letter, the Deputy Chairman should hand over the leadership of the Council to the re-instated Executive Chairman as appropriate, please”.

Reacting to the development, the reinstated chairman, Mamuda Hassan Tabla expressed gratitude to Governor Mohammed for the reinstating him and declared total commitment towards tackling illegal land allocation, felling of trees for commercial gratifications at the reserve.

Tabla assured the governor of the continued support and cooperation of the Local Government to his administration particularly in the area of delivery of dividends of democracy to people of the area.

He said; “I am grateful to the people of Ningi Local Government for their sympathy during my suspension period and I want us to continue to pray for better service delivery.

“My coming back to office is a challenge to me to provide the needed leadership to my people because of their love, solidarity and prayers for me,” he said.
