Bauchi Governor Presents N465b As 2025 Appropriation Bill To Assembly
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Wednesday, November 21, 2024, presented an Appropriation Bill of N465b for 2025 to the State House of Assembly.
The Appropriation bill tagged; “Budget of Consolidation, Sustainable Growth and Development,” according to th governor is aimed at ensuring that the state continue to witness unprecedented transformation.
Mohammed said the budget will focus on addressing the pressing needs of the people, fostering economic growth, and ensuring sustainable development.
The Governor said that other critical sectors of the budget includes Alleviating Hardship: Initiating policies and programs to ease the burden on citizens, completing Ongoing Projects, Ensuring continuity and progress in existing initiatives.
He also said that it will ensure Implementation of the new minimum wage, offsetting outstanding gratuities owed to retired civil servants and other welfare schemes have been captured in the budget.
Mohammed also said that his administration has already made significant strides in transforming the State, including: revamping healthcare, upgrading 323 primary healthcare centers and constructing/renovating secondary healthcare centers across the state.
On road construction, building of over 250 km of roads, with ongoing projects in rural communities and farmlands,
empowerment programmes, distributing commercial buses, tricycles, and micro-grants to petty traders and artisans, adding that for the Education sector, his administration will be spending over N8 billion and approving payment of NABTEB exams fees for students.
The Governor further said the 2025 Budget reflects his continued dedication to improving the lives of Bauchi State citizens.
In his words; “With his administration’s commitment to prioritizing welfare and development, the state is poised for continued growth and progress”.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Bauchi State Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman commended Governor Mohammed for presenting the budget on time and assured that the house will accord the document speedy consideration and passage.
