Bauchi: Joint Security Operation Neutralize 12 Suspected Bandits, Kidnappers
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – A joint operation by security agencies in Bauchi state successfully neutralized 12 suspected bandits and kidnappers terrorizing the state and adjourning states.
This was stated by the Police Command in Bauchi State, saying that the operation led to the death of a kingpin of the group, Madaki Mansur, who has been terrorizing residents of Alkaleri Local Government Area and parts of neighboring States of Taraba, Plateau and Gombe.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), of the Bauchi State Command, SP Ahmed Wakili said that the combined efforts of security agencies to stem the menace of banditry in the State, especially in Alkaleri Local Government Area, the command was at its best recently.
In the words of Wakili; “On the 19th December 2022, at about 0230hrs, a Joint Operation of security operatives engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Malam in Alkaleri forest.
“Following the hot exchange of superior fire-power by the operatives, 12 of the kidnappers were neutralized while others were subdued, dislodged, and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their Camp.
“Consequently, weapons and operational motorcycles were recovered during the operation,” he said.
Wakili said the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate.
