Terrorists Kill 28 Persons In Sunday Attacks On Two Communities in Southern Kaduna

Marauding terrorists on Sunday night reportedly launched an attack on the two villages of Malagum and Sokong communities in Kagoro Chiefdom situated in Kaura Local Government Are of Kaduna State.

Malagum is close to the newly built Hospital while Sokong is by the Boroni Promo close to the temporary site of the Open University, Kagoro.

During the unprovoked attack, the terrorists killed not less than 28 people in the separate attacks in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities.

The dare devil terrorists were said to be chanting “Allah hu aku bar” as they killed people and burnt houses.

The ugly development was confirmed by the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Mathias Siman, saying however that he could only confirm seven people that were gruesomely murdered in Sokwong Community.

Siman said that nearly all the houses in Sokwong Community were razed down by the terrorists, adding however that he and his officials were yet to confirm the exact number of people killed in Malagum one.

The sorrowful Council chairman, appealed to residents of the area to remain calm saying that security agencies were being deployed to carry out investigation on the sad development.

The devilish attack is coming barely five days after an another attack was launched in Malagum 1, during which three persons were brutally murdered in cold blood.

Also speaking on the mayhem, the Legislative Speaker of Kaura Local Government Area, Hon. Atuk Stephen, said that over 22 people were confirmed killed in Malagum 1, while another eight were also killed in Sokwong.

Atuk described the killings as deadly and called on the Federal Government and security agencies to redouble their efforts in curtailing the renewed killings in the area which are totally unwarranted.

According to him; β€œThe attacks in our area have been consistent and multi-dimensional with efforts of the security operatives and government not seen or felt”.

The Police Command in Kaduna State is yet to issue a statement on the development as at the time of filing this report.
