Bauchi LG Poll: Labour Party Shocks PDP, APC Without Candidate

Despite not fielding any validly nominated candidate, the Labour Party (LP) secured the highest number of votes in the Bogoro councillorship election held in Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

According to the the returning officer, Daniel Gambo, the Labour Party, without a candidate, garnered highest number of votes after the collation of the election results.

However, to mitigate the shocking electoral result, the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) has declared the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate, Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf, who came second, as the winner and the newly elected councillor representing Lusa B Ward.

Announcing the results at the collation centre in Bogoro, Gambo, said the Labour Party scored a total of 2,200 votes as against the PDP’s Yusuf who came a close second with 2,168 votes.

The results announced also showed that the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate, Mbam Masoyi, placed third in the poll with 275 votes.
