BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Hassan Haleem Abdullahi, has said that Bauchi State needs a fresh, young and energetic Governor in 2027 to correct issues of workers salary and other essential needs of the people, especially the common man.
Abdullahi, who is the Mai Borno of Dass also said that it was time for the youths to come together and assume the mantle of leadership and steer the affairs of the State
Abdullahi told journalists during a media chat as part of his Sallah message to the people of the State, Nigerians have to wake up and vote for credible candidates who will muster the political will to address the myriads of challenges affecting the common man.
He further said that it has become more critical for Nigerians in 2027 general elections to consider only candidates that will boldly address the insecurity that has bedevilled the country, particularly in the Northern part of the county.
According to him; “Come 2027, Bauchi would reject the temptation of the political class and inducement with money and other materials”.
Mai Borno of Dass added that, social analysis showed that, there is a population growth, and the government cannot provide solution associated with the problems of water scarcity even within the Bauchi metropolitan city, not to talk of suburb areas.
He noted that all the aspirants showing interest in the governorship seat of Bauchi are only engaging in mere rhetoric, stressing that they have nothing to show as far as planning to lead is concerned and to change the narratives in the State.
Abdullahi therefore tasked Bauchi youths to critically examine who they feel should lead them and has good plans for the state, and should be self reliant as well, in order not to wait for assistance from anyone.
He however, said that he would prevent them from involving in any form of political thuggery, or to be used as political tools for election do or die affairs, and distance themselves from molesting the opposition members or electorates during the electioneering process.
Abdullahi further said that the man who is going to be the next Governor is supposed to have business experience so that he will not rely on the allocation from the federation account to pay salary, because he already has experience in commerce and monetary aspects
According to him; “All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state cannot go for only one tenure arrangement as far as Governor’s office is concern come 2027.
“A popular youthful candidate would soon emerge and he would win the governorship ticket either on direct primary election or through consensus arrangements”. He emphasized.
“Among all the governorship hopefuls in the state, non of them can match the young and vibrant Bauchi business mogul and a grassroot politician across the state. And the man already has a blueprint that can succeed even in the forthcoming primary elections of political parties,” he said.
