Bauchi Police Nab Officer For Snatching Motorcycle

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one of its dismissed officers, Makama Musa, who specializes in snatching motorcycles from unsuspecting members of the public

The sacked officer, a Sergeant, was picked up for allegedly snatching a motorcycle recently along Dass road in the Bauchi State capital.

A press statement by the Command PPRO, DSP Ahmed Wakili said; “On the 22/06/2020 at about 2030hrs, Patrol team attached to Yelwa Police Station Bauchi arrested a serial motorcycle snatcher, one dismissed Police officer, Sergeant Makama Musa aged 34 years of Gombe, Gombe State”.

The release further stated that the dismissed officer was arrested wearing Police uniform along Dass road following series of complaints by residents of the area.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, the suspect has already confessed to the crime.

DSP Wakili also said at the point of his arrest, exhibits recovered from him; include, Neon blue shirt and black trouser, device rank of Sergeant and Police badge, Boxer motorcycle with number plate DBM-319-UR, Bauchi.

He said the Commissioner of Police, Lawan Jimeta has already directed that the case be transferred to State CID for discreet investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution and possible conviction.

Consequently, the Police boss assured members of the public that the Command is committed to the fight against Crime and Criminality in the State.

He said the Police appreciate every useful information that will assist in the apprehension and prosecution of criminal elements in the State.
