“In 2023, Ushongo Local Government gave Governor Alia over 31,000 votes against his closest rival’s little over 8,000 votes. We did it in 2023, and we shall do it again in 2027, God willing”.
BY TERSOO KULA
Yesterday, the people of Ushongo Local Government of Benue State sent a coherent message to the entire state that we stand for CONSOLIDATION.
We unambiguously stated our position both in works and actions that we stand with Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to continue in 2027.
The occasion was the Thanksgiving and reception in honour of Rev. Fr. Prof. Gabriel Ngbea, the Member representing Benue, Nassarawa and Plateau at the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The people of Ushongo known for their political sagacity and Prescience, disappointed all lame pundits and shortsighted analysts.
We are not oblivious of the fact that underdevelopment of the state as seen in infrastructure decay, absence of social amenities in our localities, insecurity, unemployment etc cannot be attended to in only four budgets, not even eight budgets of a state.
Nevertheless, a good dancer is detected by his first steps.
Governor Alia has started very well. He has already started attending to the tenets of our backwardness.
Yesterday’s gathering at Kartyo-Lobi was a testimony that our people have heard our messages. They are not ready to return to Egypt. They want the Governor to continue in office and reinforce the reforms he has brought into the system.
And the Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia did not disappoint the crowd of party faithful and enthusiasts.
His message was simple: “I liberate my people”.
“The principle behind my reformation project is that every Benue person should be invited to the table.
“One MUST not be from a wealthy, influential and powerful family to get a chance to contribute to the development of the state.
“I am deliberate about this and I shall continue,” he stressed.
The Governor charged the people to go out and engage in peaceful campaigns and ensure it is issue-based and not unnecessary taunting and vilifications.
In 2023, Ushongo Local Government gave Governor Alia over 31,000 votes against his closest rival’s little over 8,000 votes.
We did it in 2023, and we shall do it again in 2027, God willing.
…Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State is a son of Ushongo.
