Bizarre! Trader Seeks Assembly Ticket To Marry New Wife
BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – Just to fulfill his dream of marrying a new wife, a trader based in Mararaba area of Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Haruna Bala has set his eyes on becoming a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) come 2023
For Haruna, his sure ticket to courting and marrying another wife is to contest and win the general election as an Assemblyman in the State.
Bala, who deals in ‘Second Hand clothes’, told Forefront exclusively that consultations have already commenced while resources are being mobilized towards realising his dreams.
He said uppermost in his mission of becoming a lawmaker is to marry another wife, in addition to ensuring adequate representation for women in the Assembly.
“I will not contest in either APC or PDP but a different party whose manifesto shows concern for women”, Bala said, adding; “It may interest you to know that I am presently evaluating that constituency in search of a suitable woman as a wife”.
He said women have been neglected for so long with many of them desiring to get married to men who are not forthcoming, adding that things would change drastically by 2023.
Urging women to rally round him and ensure success at the polls, Bala promised to partner with other like minded lawmakers to put in place an association for unmarried women, while also ensuring there are specific packages backed by law as incentives in support of those willing to get married.
The “Bend Down Select” Salesman said; “While in the House, I will marry another wife as top of my agenda in order to encourage other men to marry additional wives so that we reduce the number of unmarried women in the State.
“I will also canvass for a law to regulate how women will be engaged to avoid the temptation of staying idle without anything to do and not married”.
Bala promised fair representation for women during his time in the State Assembly when elected, insisting that the action plan will involve mobilizing resources for the upkeep of women in his constituency.
“Government must have a special fund for women as mothers and as those that will liberate the society and reduce the societal ills that have destroyed the communities resulting in lack of morality and good upbringing”, he told Forefront
