Buhari is Ready For 2019 – Presidency

BY SEGUN ADEBAYO, ABUJA – President Muhammadu Buhari is ready for 2019 and the Presidency has advised political parties that instead of dwelling on unnecessary squabbles, they should make haste and prodiuce candidates that will slug it out with the President come next year’s general elections.

Speaking with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where he welcomed the President from London on Friday, presidential spokesman Garba Shehu advised the political parties to hasten and produce candidates that will challenge President Buhari at the 2019 polls.

Describing the timely return of the President from Britain as a good sign for opposition parties to be well prepared for the polls slated for next year, Malam Garba said, “We use this opportunity to put the opponents on notice: are you ready for 2019? President Buhari is ready for 2019; come, let’s go.”

The presidential spokesman said the earlier return of Buhari to the country from medical checkup in the UK adequately testified to the fact that there was nothing to worry about, “as we earlier said.”

“I just went for further medical checkup and I’m alright,” said the President immediately he arrived at the airport.
