Buhari, Northern Govs, Tinubu, Others Congratulate Adeboye @78

President Muhammadu Buhari says the General-Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is a steadfast preacher who has been telling the truth to power for years.

In a congratulatory message to the eminent cleric on his 78th birthday anniversary, the President also saluted the clergyman’s dedication to the service of God and humanity.

President Buhari said in a statement by his Special Adviser (SA) on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, that an interaction he had with Pastor Adeboye will ever remain indelible and fresh in his mind, adding that Pastor Adeboye, who presides over one of the largest Christian congregations in the world, is noted for his kindness, warmth and ability to always see the goodness in others.

According to the statement. “President Muhammadu Buhari joins the Christian community in celebrating General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, at 78, saluting his dedication to God, welfare of the church and consistency in preaching and living the gospel for many years.

“The President felicitates with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), members of Pastor Adeboye’s family, which includes many spiritual children, within and outside the country, and his associates, commending the positive influence the preacher has had on the country and its citizens, with a wide network that hugely impacts on education, infrastructure and health.

“President Buhari notes, with delight, the extensive contributions of Pastor Adeboye to the growth of the country, especially his forthrightness in telling the truth to leaders, regular mobilisation of members of his church to civic responsibilities and relentless courage in taking the gospel picto every part of Nigeria, and almost every country in the world.

“As the General Overseer turns 78, the President recalls his interactions with the pastor over many years, underscoring his warmth, kindness and commitment to seeing the good in others, while vigorously pursuing the divine vision of creating an enabling environment for worship and living the teachings of the Bible.

“President Buhari prays that the almighty God will grant Pastor Adeboye longer life, good health and more wisdom to continue sharing the love of Christ,” the statement said.

Also in their congratulatory message, the Northern State Governors’ Forum (NSGF) commended Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye’s impact on Nigerians as he turns 78.

Forum Chairman and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, who congratulated Pastor Adeboye on behalf of the Forum, described him as a man of God who is rendering fervent service to God and humanity.

In a statement by his Director of Press and Public Affairs Dr. Macham Makut in Jos, the Plateau State Chief Executive said the cleric has been impacting on people’s lives through education, healthcare, infrastructure, empowerment and entrepreneurship using the various outreaches and programmes of the Church.

“The labour of Pastor Adeboye in the Lord’s vineyard over his many years of preaching and evangelism, clearly sets him apart as a vessel of honour,” he said.

According to him, God has used Adeboye to touch the lives of the people not only in Nigeria, but the world at large.

He prayed God to grant the cleric good health and the grace as he continues to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria, while rendering his best toward the salvation of the people.

Similarly, in his birthday message to the reverred man of God, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu joined other notable Nigerians in celebrating the RCCG’s General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

A congratulatory letter to Pastor Adeboye released by his Media Office had the former Lagos State governor describing the cleric as a strong and committed leader of nations, who has built a flock that now numbers many millions through his formidable and devoted ministry.

Asiwaju Tinubu, who personally signed the letter, said: “I sincerely extend my best wishes and congratulations to Pastor E. A. Adeboye on the occasion of his 78th birthday celebrations.

“Truly, Pastor Adeboye is a strong and committed leader of nations. Through his formidable and devoted ministry, he has built a flock that now numbers many millions.

“With the support of his loyal and dedicated wife, Pastor Adeboye has built a church that is renowned across the world. He has led a life of grace and service. He is a beacon of hope for those in search of salvation and a guiding light for those who, like him, are called to serve.

“His dedication to his faith and the salvation of his followers deserves recognition and commendation, even from among those who do not profess identical beliefs.

“My thoughts are with Pastor Adeboye, his family and all people of faith across our great nation, Nigeria at this important moment.

“May God continue to show Pastor Adeboye His divine mercy. May He bless him and give him many more years in good health and high spirits that he may continue to touch the lives of those who would follow.”

Also, in his personal birthday message, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom described Pastor Adeboye as a true spiritual father whose selfless service and guidance in the Lord’s vineyard have won millions of souls for God.

He said the RCCG General Overseer has demonstrated uncommon humility and the love of God through his teaching, preaching and lifestyle.

He prayed for sustained good health and strength to enable the renowned man of God do more for the church and humanity.
