President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday evening visited the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, currently recuperating in London, the United Kingdom (UK), after undergoing a second surgery within one month.

However, details of the meeting and discussions between both leaders were readily not available when their pictures suddenly trended on social media.

Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, had confirmed the meeting, saying the President was the visitor but he had no details of their engagement

Reports said the former Lagos State Governor, who had knee surgery at the John Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, United States, left for the UK on crutches a few days after the surgery. He was seen with a walking stick to aid his movement during the visit of Mr President.

A competent source was quoted as saying; “You see he couldn’t hide that he had difficulty walking after undergoing his second surgery. He went to the UK on crutches but took a walking stick to see Buhari.”

According to SaharaReporters, sources close to Tinubu said he initially wanted the surgery in Paris, France but had to change his plan following rumours of his death.

“Tinubu had his second surgery at John Hopkins University in Maryland recently. He was accompanied by a popular Nigerian doctor in Chicago.

“He had wanted the surgery in Paris but when rumours were rife about his death, he hurriedly left for Nigeria and went to John Hopkins,” one of the sources said.

President Buhari had been in the United Kingdom since July 26, 2021, to participate in the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025.

After the summit, the President went on to consult his doctors following an earlier scheduled medical check-up in London according to a statement issued then by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
