Buhari’s Administration A Huge Scam – Dino Melaye
Offers apologies, regrets supporting him in 2015
Controversial former lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, says one of his life’s huge regrets is supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to win the general elections in 2015.
He has therefore apologised to Nigerians, describing Buhari’s Presidency as the ‘greatest scam’ to have come out of Africa in recent times
The outspoken Dino, who represented Kogi West Senatorial district in the National Assembly between 2015 and 2019, clearly insinuated that supporting Buhari’s candidacy in 2015 as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the greatest blunder of his political career.
Speaking on Channels Television program me, Politics On Saturday, Dino said; “To start with, I apologise to God Almighty who is the Supreme Controller of the universe and to Nigerians for supporting Buhari. The Buhari agenda is the greatest scam that came out of Africa.
“The Buhari presidency in 2015 is the greatest scam that came out of Africa because the subject-matter Buhari is the greatest con that came out of Africa.”
The Kogi-born politician said his regret is all about playing bring among those that huge part in giving birth to the President Buhari-led APC government.
Further expressing his frustration with current happenings in the country, Senator Melaye said; “Once I was blind, now I can see. How can one remain in a political party or support a president with what is happening today in Nigeria? How? So, I regret very seriously because we were scammed.”
According to him, looking ahead, the APC has completely disappointed Nigerians, even as the party lacks necessary structures required to steer the nation’s ship progressively forward.
“I spoke like this even when I was a member of the APC and because I am a Christian and the Bible is superior to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It talks about unequal yokes, darkness and light don’t concur, so I had to leave the party.”
For him, Nigerians should however not despair but put their hopes in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which he says has better chances of winning the 2023 presidential elections.
