Catholic Bishop Quits After Falling In Love

For reportedly failing in love with the author of satanic erotic fiction, a Spanish Catholic Bishop, Xavier Novell, has quit the church in pursuit of his romantic passion.

The 52-year-old cleric, who became Spain’s youngest bishop in 2010, resigned in late August, with Church authorities in Solsona, Catalonia, citing “personal reasons” for his decision.

According to a Catholic publication, Religión Digital, the two love birds, Bishop Novell and the writer, Silvia Caballol, are now in an open relationship.

Xavier had dropped the hints of having “fallen in love” adding that he “wanted to do the right thing” when asked about his relationship with Silvia, who wrote, The Hell of Gabriel’s Lust and the erotic trilogy Amnesia.

Silvia’s book, The Hell of Gabriel’s Lust, discusses occultism, sadism, and covers “the raw struggle between good and evil, God and satan and angels and demons”.

Insiders privy to the love story claim that Pope Francis had counseled Xavier to have an exorcism himself to “free his troubled spirit”, but he refused. (Exorcism is the “expulsion or attempted expulsion of a supposed evil spirit from a person or place”)

So, the ‘erotic’ priest is not a stranger to the demonic, having been among the handful of Spanish bishops who declined to have an exorcist appointed in 2015 but instead opted to perform the role himself.

The news site, Religion Digital, stated that Novell’s heartthrob, Silvia Caballol, is 38 years old and a divorced mother-of-two. After he began studying demonology, Bishop Novell reportedly met Caballol, a psychologist who has studied sexology, yoga, Catholicism, and Islam.

Caballol’s publisher described her books as turning ‘all our moral and ethical considerations upside down.’

Caballol’s most recent book, The Hell in Gabriel’s Lust, promises; ‘prisons, psychopathy, sects, sadism, madness, lust, and, little by little, as the story progresses…  The unreality of immortality and the crude struggle between good and evil, between God and Satan, and between angels and demons.’

The estranged Catholic Priest bishop has earlier come under fire before for his links to so-called “gay conversion therapy”.

He was accused of holding a wedding between a woman and one of the young men who attended the “treatment”, without the support or consent of the local priest or bride’s parents.

Similarly, there have been issues around his being an outspoken supporter of independence for Catalonia.

Two former ministers from the rebel Catalan government who were imprisoned on charges of sedition were some of those who expressed their support of Xavier’s resignation.

One of them, Mr Josep Rull said: “Bishop Novell has always been by the side of political prisoners, with words and, above all, with deeds, becoming one of the few exceptions from the Catalan Church hierarchy.”

Rull was the Minister of Development and Counsellor of Territory and Sustainability of Catalonia at the Government of Carles Puigdemont between 2016 and 2017. – With Agency reports
