- Delivers solidarity, get-well-quick messages
BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa has visited some of the soldiers wounded during recent military operations in the country with get-well-quick messages to lift their spirits.
General Musa said the visit was to encourage the personnel, appreciate their sacrifices to the nation, and see how they are recuperating. The injured soldiers are currently receiving treatment at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.
Assuring them that their sacrifices to the nation will not be in vain, the CDS, accompanied by the Acting Chief Medical Director of 44 Army Reference Hospital, Col. Stephen Onuchukwu, said the visit would aid their recuperation and give them a true feeling that they are not alone.
He said the Defence Headquarters would ensure that they get the best treatment, adding; “Even if it will take us taking them abroad for treatment or other surgeries that cannot be done here, we will do that.”
The CDS expressed delight with the hospital environment and the professional manner with which the doctors, nurses and other personnel were handling patients in the hospital.
He also restated the Military High Command’s commitment to always give priority attention to the welfare of troops, saying; “Without them, nothing can be done in the fight against insecurity and criminality. We are therefore together with them and praying for their quick recovery”.
