Chelsea Eye Hazard Return To Stamford Bridge
UEFA Champions League holders, Chelsea are weighing the option of a sensational West London comeback for Belgian international, Eden Hazard, who has so far failed to reproduce his best form since joining Real Madrid in June 2012.
Clearly struggling to impress since leaving for Madrid, Hazard has continued to maintain a strong relationship with several Blues first-teamers, but the English club would have to pay a hefty price to have him back in the Premier League.
There are strong hints the Chelsea environment has received proposals from intermediaries offering the Belgian for his hypothetical return to Stamford Bridge in a deal that seems very complicated for now.
According to reports, despite Madrid’s desire to keep the Belgian captain in their fold, his name continues to enjoy popular mention at Stamford Bridge among possible recruits for the new season.
And hopes remain high among Chelsea diehards that the man, who once held sway in London as his home for seven years, maybe back on board if economic reasons and the complexity of the Blues squad, presently full of footballers of his profile, are sorted out.
Hugely essential is the financial question given that Madrid coughed out €100 million to Chelsea in their deal with a five-year contract for Hazard. That amount amortizes €20 million each summer in its accounts as a result of that transfer.
For it not to have a negative impact on their balance sheet, Madrid would have to sell Hazard for at least €60 million and they would be delighted to carry out such an attractive transaction. However, this is a very high amount to part with by Chelsea that would have to add the salary increase of Hazard in relation to the salary he will earn in West London.

At the moment, The Blues insiders believe Manager Thomas Tuchel is not keen on having wingers or midfielders to a side that has Mason Mount, Havertz, Timo Werner, Pulisic, and Ziyech, many of them newcomers to the club and precisely the match of Hazard himself.
Under Tuchel, Chelsea reached the FA Cup final, losing 1–0 to Leicester City, and won their second UEFA Champions League title with a 1–0 win over Manchester City in Porto.
Born on January 7, 1991, Eden Michael Hazard, who currently plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Spanish giants, Real Madrid, and captains the Belgium national team, is known for his creativity, dribbling, and passing.
Considered among the best players of his generation, Hazard signed for English club Chelsea in June 2012, winning the UEFA Europa League in his first season and the PFA Young Player of the Year in his second.
In the 2014–15 season, he helped Chelsea win the League Cup and Premier League, earning him the FWA Footballer of the Year and the PFA Players’ Player of the Year awards. Two years later, Hazard won his second English league title as Chelsea emerged the 2016–17 Premier League champions.
In 2018, he added the FA Cup to his medal collections and was named in the FIFA FIFPro World XI. Again, he won the Europa League with Chelsea in June 2019, before teaming up with Real Madrid in a transfer deal worth up to €150 million. Though an injury-plagued debut season, Hazard won the La Liga with the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium Landlords.
