Christmas: Pastor Hosts Over 500 Muslims In Kaduna

BY AMOS TAUNA, KADUNA – More than 500 Muslims celebrated Christmas at a pastor’s house to poster peace & unity. In the spirit of Christmas and harmonious co-existence, the General Overseer, Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru, hosted over 500 Muslims in his house. The over 500 Muslims comprises of youths, Imams, women, traditional titled holders, CSO/NGO were at Pastor Yohanna Buru’s house to have fellowship together as a way of ensuring mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.
Pastor Buru said that the fellowship was to promote peaceful co-existence among different faith organizations and shun ethno-religious and political differences affecting the state for decades.
In his Christmas message to the visitors, he stressed the importance of promoting peaceful co-existence among different faith base organization in Kaduna state, Nigeria and Africa as a whole, adding, “We are using Christmas season to unite Muslims and Christians so as to promote better understanding among different faith base organizations with a view of eliminating all forms of misunderstandings among us. My house has never been occupied by Muslims like today. I am the very happy for the honour done to me by accepting to come to my house to have fellowship with me and members of my Church. l am begging on Muslims and Christians across the globe to use the season of Christmas in promoting peace and unity for better understanding of one another”.
The General Overseer expressed satisfaction over the large number of Muslims who attended the service in his house, pointing out that it is an indication of acceptability that we love each other and wish ourselves well.
“We all must remember that we are from same parents (Adam and Eve) and we all worship one God. l am really happy having other Muslims from Niger and Cameron and some others from different states of Northern Nigeria that came to joined us in the celebration,” he explained.
Responding, Dr Yusuf Nadabo, former Head Of Department, Anatomy, Kaduna State University, emphasized on the importance of tolerance among different faith-based organizations in the country in order to move the country forward. Nadabo urged Muslims and Christians to promote peace and unity by coming closer to one another for better understanding.
He also appealed to NGOs, CSOs, CAN and JNl and all humanitarian organizations to sustain peaceful coexistence in the country, while stressing the importance of forgiveness among the two different faith organizations.
Also Mallam Abdullahi Dan Tudu, who is the chairman of Kaduna State Civilian Joint Task Force JTF, appealed to all Nigerians to embrace peace and unity as the only way to move the country forward. The JTF Commander called on all Nigerians to use the Christmas period in promoting peace and unity, while calling on all citizens to emulate the attitude of preaching peace messages at all times.
