A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday dismissed a suit instituted by the Federal Government seeking to extradite the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari to the United States of America.

The Court presided over by Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo ruled that the extradition request filed by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on behalf of the Federal Government lacked merit and therefore liable to dismissal.

The Federal Government through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami SAN, filed the extradition charges against Kyari to pave way for his extradition to the United States of America to answer allegations fraud linking him with Hushpuppi.

The trial judge further ruled that the Federal Government has no basis to file the extradition request having put suspended DCP Kyari on trial in Nigeria in relation to the same allegations against him in America.
