Court Remands Man For Raping 9-Year-Old Girl

A Kano Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 28-year-old teacher, Hassan Aliyu, in a correctional centre for alleged sexual assault on a nine-year-old girl.

Aliyu, who resides in Badawa Quarters Kano, is charged by the Police with procuration of a minor girl.

Chief Magistrate Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti also adjourned the matter until September 20, 2021 for mention.

The Prosecution Counsel, Miss Asma’u Ado had earlier told the Court that the defendant, Aliyu committed the offence on June 8, 2021 at Badawa Quarters Kano.

According to her, at about 4pm on the said date, the suspect went to the Islamic School situated at Badawa Quarters Kano where he lured the girl into a room and sexually assaulted her.

Miss Ado informed the Court that the offence committed by Aliyu contravenes the provisions of Section 275 of the Penal Code.
