COVID-19: Dogara Distributes Palliative To Constituents In Bauchi

BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has distributed food items worth millions of Naira to people of his Federal Constituency to serve as palliative in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. 

Dogara, is representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency in the House of Reps, stressed the need for people to resort back to God for divine solution to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Represented by one of his political associates, Aminu Mohammed Tukur during the distribution of the items in Bauchi on Saturday, Dogara noted that the COVID-19 pandemic does not recognize religion or race before infecting a person, adding that form the main reason people should get united to fight the scourge. 

He added that with the situation of things now, everybody has become vulnerable and therefore need some sort of palliative measures to cushion the effects of the lockdown. 

Dogara also called on the Muslim Ummah to use the Ramadan fasting period to offer supplications to Allah in order to intervene and stop the pandemic from spreading further. 

He then charged the representatives of the constituents to ensure that the items reached the most vulnerable amongst them assuring that with time, more of the palliative items would get to them. 

Representatives of the three LGAs of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa commended the former Speaker for the donated items, saying that it could not have come at a better time than now when the people are going through stress because of the lockdown. 

They promised to judiciously and fairly distribute the item to the people just as they called on other politicians from the areas to emulate Hon. Dogara and do the needful to alleviate the hardship of the people during this lockdown period. 

The items distributed included 3200 bags of 10kg rice, 3200 bags of maize flour, 100 bags of sugar and 600 packs of spaghetti.
