BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night confirmed 20 new deaths in the last 24 hours bringing the total fatality figure from COVID-19 cases to 709 deaths nationwide.
According to the NCDC, the tally of infections in Nigeria also rose to 31,323 with 575 newly confirmed cases coming from 18 states of the federation.
Latest report released by the Centre stated thus; “”On the 10th of July 2020, 575 new confirmed cases and 20 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.”
Obvious that there is no new state to report a case again with all the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reflected on its virus infection chart, the Centre further said “Till date, 31,323 cases have been confirmed, 12,795 cases have been discharged and 709 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)”
It further explained that the 575 new cases reported from 18 states indicated as follows: Lagos – (224), Oyo – (85), FCT – (68), Rivers – (49), Kaduna – (39), and Edo – (31).
