COVID-19 Update: NCDC Confirms 34 New Cases, Nigeria’s Tally Now 407
As at 11.20pm on April 15, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said 34 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Nigeria bringing the total figure to 407 cases till date.
It also stated that of the number, 128 cases have been successfully treated and discharged with twelve (12) deaths sadly recorded in the country.
A breakdown of these 34 fresh cases indicated that they were reported from five states – Lagos (18); Kano (12); Katsina (2); Niger (1); and Delta (1).
Also, the number of states with confirmed cases of #COVID19 now stands at 19 plus the nation’s capital, FCT.

As we increase the number of labs, we are working very hard with states to improve the sample collection and transportation process.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone who meets the national case definition is tested, positive cases are isolated and managed to recovery

Seventeen (17) days ago, we set a target to scale up #COVID19 testing capacity from six (6) to 13 labs in three (3) weeks
Today, we announced the inclusion of the 12th & 13th labs, with plans for further expansion

📢#COVID19Nigeria Update, the Center said two new labs have been activated for #COVID19 testing at:
1. DNA Lab, a private sector laboratory in Kaduna
2. @uni_maid Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri
This brings the number of COVID-19 testing labs in Nigeria to 13 with work ongoing to activate two more in Sokoto and Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
