COVID-19 Update: NCDC Reports 132 New Infections, Tally Now 56,388 Cases
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) late on Monday night reported 132 new infections of Coronavirus (COVID-19, taking the countrywide tally of confirmed cases to 56,388.
Statistics captured on the NCDC verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov also showed that one one death was officially recorded in the last 24 hours.
Furthermore, the NCDC explained that at 44,337 cases, the number of treated and discharged patients continues on an impressive upward trend across the country.
On a general note, the NCDC stated that: “On the 14th of September 2020, 132 new confirmed cases and one (1) death were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 56,388 cases have been confirmed, 44,337 cases have been discharged and 1,083 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Of the 132 new cases reported from 11 states of the federation, the breakdown indicated thus: Lagos (52), Gombe (27), Plateau (17), and Kwara (10).
Others captured on the daily infection chart are: Enugu (9), Ogun (9), Katsina (3), Ekiti (2), Bauchi (1), Osun (1), and Rivers (1).
