COVID-19 Update: Nigeria’s Figures Keep Rising, Tally Now 11,166, New Cases 348
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI, ABUJA – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night confirmed that the spread of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria continues to rise with latest statistics indicating a total 11,166 confirmed cases nationwide.
The Centre also announced that 348 new cases of COVID19 and one death were recorded on the 3rd of June 2020 in the country.
Figures captured on the NCDC’s official Twitter handle further showed that no new state reported a case in the last 24 hours while 3329 patients have so far been treated and discharged from various isolation centers and accredited hospitals.
Similarly, the Centre stated that the number of fatalities now stand at 315 deaths recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
On the 348 new cases reported from 19 states of the Federation, the NCDC listed Lagos with (163); FCT – (76); Ebonyi – (23); and Rivers – (21).
Others include: Delta, Nasarawa and Niger with Eight (8) cases each; Enugu – Six (6); Bauchi, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo and Gombe with Five (5) cases each; Benue – Four (4); Ogun – Two (2) while Osun, Plateau, Kogi and Anambra all reported one (1) case each.
